EBU extends Tridem Sports partnership

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has extended its partnership with Tridem Sports AG for the exploitation of commercial rights to the 2015 and 2017 FIS Alpine and Nordic World Ski Championships.

The partnership began in May 2009, when the EBU teamed up with the Swiss marketing agency to exploit the rights to the2011 and 2013 editions of the events.

Under the terms of the agreement, Tridem will provide project management, marketing and sponsorship sales services for the EBU.

Christian Pirzer, owner and chief executive of Tridem Sports AG, said: “We are proud about this early renewal of our contractwith the EBU, which gives us and the sponsors the chance to plan for the long term and to maximise the return from thesponsorship of the FIS Alpine and Nordic World Ski Championships.”

Stefan Kuerten, director of the EBU's Sports and Business Department, said the “cooperation is a prime example of the EBU's adaptability to ever-changing market demands”, while the union's head of Winter Sports Rights, Ingolfur Hannesson, added: “The EBU/Tridem partnership has been a resounding success under somewhat challenging economic conditions in recent years, so we are pleased to continue with this winning formula.”

Tridem is currently completing sales of all sponsorship package sales for the 2013 FIS Alpine Ski World Championships inSchladming, Austria and the 2013 Nordic Ski World Championships in Val di Fiemme, Italy.
